Jakarta, March 30, 2026 – PT Mekar Investama Teknologi (MEKAR) has successfully upgraded its ISO/IEC 27001 certification to the latest 2022 version, the international standard for Information Security Management Systems (ISMS). This certification upgrade reinforces MEKAR’s commitment to enhancing data protection, system security, and corporate information governance amid the growing importance of data security in the digital era.
ISO 27001:2022 is an updated version of the previous 2013 standard, designed to align with technological advancements and increasingly complex data protection needs. Compared to its predecessor, the latest version introduces improvements that make information security management more streamlined and relevant to current organizational requirements. It also places stronger emphasis on cybersecurity and data protection, enabling organizations to manage information security risks more effectively.
As a financial technology company focused on empowering productive sectors, including MSMEs and agricultural communities, MEKAR continues to strengthen its information security systems to ensure the protection of user data and the sustainability of a secure and reliable financing ecosystem. The ISO 27001:2022 standard covers various aspects of information security, including risk assessment and mitigation, digital asset management, access control, data encryption, and incident response mechanisms.
MEKAR’s CEO, Pandu Aditya Kristy, stated that this certification upgrade reflects the company’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its information security standards.
“For MEKAR, the ISO 27001:2022 certification represents our commitment to maintaining the highest level of data and information security. With the increasing number of cyber threats today, this updated standard plays a crucial role in ensuring data protection while maintaining the trust of our users and partners,” said Pandu.
He further emphasized that in today’s digital landscape, information security is no longer just a technical requirement, but a fundamental pillar in building trust.
“Cyber threats continue to evolve, and data breaches can significantly impact reputation and customer trust. By implementing ISO 27001:2022, we ensure that MEKAR has a strong, secure, and well-structured information security management system,” he added.
Furthermore, Pandu highlighted that the implementation of ISO 27001:2022 is not only about compliance with international standards, but also reflects the company’s commitment to upholding the principles of Good Corporate Governance.
Through this standard, MEKAR strengthens the protection of sensitive data, minimizes the risk of information breaches, and provides a higher level of security assurance for users, partners, and all stakeholders.
As the technology ecosystem continues to evolve, particularly within the digital financial sector serving MSMEs and other productive sectors, MEKAR ensures that information security remains a core foundation in every service development. The renewal of the ISO 27001:2022 certification marks an important milestone for MEKAR in continuously enhancing its information security standards and strengthening data protection systems in line with best practices and evolving security standards.
