Padang Pariaman, September 17, 2025 – MEKAR, together with AFPI, conducted a field visit to the agricultural site managed by Paten Mekar Tani in Padang Pariaman, West Sumatra. This visit is part of a joint effort to support local farmer empowerment and promote productive, sustainable agriculture.
The visit was attended by Pandu Aditya Kristy (CEO of MEKAR), Kuseryansyah (Head of Public Relations, AFPI), Yasmine Meylia (Executive Director, AFPI), and Ari Irpendi Putra (Director of Paten Mekar Tani).
Reviving Long-Abandoned Land

One of the key highlights of the visit was witnessing the transformation of previously unused land that had been idle for over 35 years.
Today, the land is being developed into productive agricultural fields, creating new economic opportunities for local communities while strengthening food security in the Padang Pariaman region.
Looking ahead, Paten Mekar Tani plans to expand its operations by developing up to 300 hectares of additional land, including areas in mountainous regions.
Understanding Farmers’ Daily Realities
The visit also provided an opportunity for MEKAR and AFPI to gain deeper insights into the daily lives of local farmers.
From land preparation and planting processes to the challenges faced on the ground, the experience highlighted that agriculture is not merely about production—it is a vital part of community life and economic sustainability.
The lush green landscape of Lubuk Alung reflects the dedication and perseverance of local farmers who continue to cultivate and improve their land.
The Role of Digital Financing in Agriculture
This initiative also demonstrates how digital financing solutions, such as Pindar, can help strengthen the agricultural value chain.
The collaboration between MEKAR, AFPI, and Paten Mekar Tani highlights how cross-sector partnerships can create meaningful impact, particularly in advancing modern, productive, and sustainable agriculture.
A Shared Commitment to Growth
From West Sumatra to the rest of Indonesia, MEKAR and its partners remain committed to supporting productive agriculture and community-based economic empowerment.
Tumbuh Bersama, MEKAR Bersama.
