A simultaneous corn planting program for Q1 2026 was held at Posko Farm Panen Mekar Tani in Tapakis, Ulakan Tapakis District, Padang Pariaman Regency, West Sumatra, on Saturday (March 7, 2026).
This activity is part of the National Simultaneous Corn Planting Program initiated by the Indonesian National Police Headquarters and implemented across various regions in Indonesia.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of PT Mekar Investama Teknologi (MEKAR), Pandu Aditya Kristy, stated that the company’s involvement in this initiative is part of its commitment to strengthening the agricultural sector and national food security.
“Food security is one of the key foundations of a nation’s strength and independence. Through synergy between the government, authorities, businesses, and communities, we can strengthen the agricultural sector while improving people’s welfare,” said Pandu in an official statement.
Reviving Decades-Long Idle Land
Pandu explained that the land used for the corn planting had previously been unproductive for more than three decades.
According to him, the land was previously damaged and overgrown with shrubs, making it unsuitable for agricultural use for a long period.
“This land had been idle for over 30 years. It was in poor condition, overgrown with bushes, and unproductive. Through collaborative efforts, it is now being revitalized into productive agricultural land that is expected to provide economic benefits to the community,” he added.
Encouraging Sustainable Agricultural Development

He further emphasized that agricultural development should not only focus on increasing food production but also consider social and environmental impacts.
“We aim to improve community welfare, especially for farmers, while ensuring that agricultural development remains environmentally sustainable,” he explained.
Driving Growth in the Real Sector
MEKAR has been widely known as a platform that supports the growth of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), particularly women-led businesses. Over time, the company has expanded its contribution to the agricultural sector, recognizing its vital role in supporting food security.
This program is also expected to create job opportunities and increase employment absorption for local communities, alongside the growth of agricultural activities in the Padang Pariaman area.
These efforts are further strengthened through the development of the MEKAR Ecosystem, which connects various business actors within a unified economic ecosystem.
Through this approach, stakeholders are expected to support each other in strengthening real-sector economic activities, including agriculture.
“Going forward, our goal is not only to increase agricultural production but also to build a sustainable economic ecosystem through the MEKAR Ecosystem, where all parties can collaborate and empower one another,” Pandu concluded.
The simultaneous corn planting program in Padang Pariaman is part of a national initiative aimed at increasing agricultural commodity production while optimizing the use of previously unproductive land.
