Mekar Donates to Palu Disaster Victims

A month has passed since a powerful earthquake and tsunami claimed thousands of lives and destroyed homes and businesses across the city of Palu and other areas in Central Sulawesi. Although survivors are still reeling from the loss of their loved ones or their properties and assets, signs of rebuilding are apparent in many parts of the city.

In an effort to help survivors rebuild their city and their life, Mekar recently ran a program in which we set aside a portion of our profit from the funding our lenders made during the program period and donated the funds to disaster victims in Palu and the Sigi and Donggala regencies.

The program was a hit among our lenders. On October 25, Mekar made a donation of IDR 13,418,000 to humanitarian charity Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT). ACT has since distributed the funds to victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Central Sulawesi.

Mekar, represented by COO Pandu Aditya Kristy (right), received a certificate from a representative of Aksi Cepat Tanggap. Mekar made a donation to disaster victims in Palu, Sigi and Donggala via the humanitarian charity.
