Mekar to Participate in Fintech Days 2018, Aims to Promote Fintech to Indonesian Public

Jakarta, 19 March 2018 – Mekar (PT Mekar Investama Sampoerna) is set to participate in Fintech Days 2018, an annual event held by the Financial Services Authority (OJK), on 22 and 23 March 2018, at Santika Premiere Dyandra Hotel & Convention, Medan, North Sumatera.

Fintech Days is where fintech companies like Mekar, which offers peer-to-peer lending services, meet and promote the fintech industry to the public. Fintech Days 2018 invites dozens of P2P lending companies.

As one of the leading players in the sector, Mekar is committed to supporting OJK and the Indonesian government’s effort in advancing financial inclusion in the country. Mekar does this by offering peer-to-peer lending services both to borrowers, all of whom are small business owners, and to lenders in all parts of Indonesia. By taking part in Fintech Days 2018, Mekar aims to inform the general public about how technology is reshaping the finance industry.

Fintech Days 2018 will be filled with various activities, among them is a talk show titled “Collaboration potentials between fintech lending companies and government’s programs”, with speakers from the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, the Trade Ministry, Bekraf and several fintech companies. Finetch Days 2018 will also host a Coaching Clinic for young people who seek to launch an innovative startup.

During Fintech Days 2018, Mekar hopes to bring Indonesians to a deeper understanding about P2P lending and how Mekar supports the development of Indonesia’s MSMEs by connecting them with lenders (also called funders in Mekar) who can lend them the funds they need to grow their business.

That is why all the loans in Mekar are productive loans and the money is used to finance production and generate more money; not consumptive loans,” said Mekar’s Chief Commercial Officer, Randy Gunadi.

During Fintech Days 2018, Mekar will also offer a special cashback promotion for funders at the location of the event who lend at least Rp 30,000,000 to small businesses through Mekar. The amount of cashback offered is Rp 500,000.
