Not all storms arrive with loud thunder. For some, they come quietly—through piling bills, relentless debt collection calls, and anxiety that lingers every single day.

That was the reality faced by Ade Harfiah (44), a factory worker in Tangerang. As a mother of three, she had to divide her time between work, taking care of her family, and ensuring daily household needs were met.

However, a few years ago, financial pressure led her into online loans. At first, it seemed like a quick solution to cover daily expenses. But over time, the debt accumulated and became increasingly difficult to repay.

With limited income, Bu Ade had to continuously find ways to cover one debt with another loan. This situation not only affected her financial condition but also caused constant stress and anxiety.

Amid the worsening situation, Bu Ade finally sought a way out through the cooperative where she was a member. From there, she gained access to financing supported by MEKAR.

This funding became a turning point in her life. With support from the cooperative and MEKAR, Bu Ade was finally able to repay all her online loan debts.

For her, this support was not just a loan, it was a chance to start over with peace of mind.

However, life’s challenges did not end there. Shortly after freeing herself from online loan debt, Bu Ade faced another urgent need: redeeming her eldest child’s school certificate from a pesantren.

Through the continued support of the cooperative and MEKAR, she was able to access financing again. The funds were fully used to redeem her child’s certificate, opening the door to a better educational future.

Today, Bu Ade’s life has gradually stabilized. She can now work with greater focus, free from the burden of debt, while her child continues education at the desired school.

For Bu Ade, this journey is proof that every storm will pass—as long as there is hope and the right support.

Through partnerships with cooperatives, MEKAR strives to provide safer and more sustainable financing access for communities, so they no longer have to rely on harmful illegal loans.

Because behind every mother’s struggle, there is always a great hope for her children’s future.
